CHLOOEY's SoNg....
Matching men’s pyjamas, hanging out at home,
Private time rules, take an instagram on your iphone!
I like old type writers & I like old movies,
I hang out in percussion shops, the triangles they sooth me.
I sit on my bay window, play ukulele or banjo,
Who even remembers, I used to be a band ho?
My ideal job, is to out-fit vintage shops,
They would all be the same, bricks and train station clocks.
FRINGE. FRINGE. FRINGE. Quirky HAT. HAT. HAT.
Who needs a personality when you have a cat?
So please do not stress out, just have a cup of tea.
Or we could just sell this song, to a mobile phone company.
I dress like Madeline, always with a white collar.
Dressing like a sexy grandma makes all the boys holla.
Some of my friends, they, campaign about Gaza,
I say lets not think about that, look I baked bread, with banana!
So wear your polka dots, and ribbons in your hair,
No need to be political if you cook for a country fair!
You think that I am narrow, and listen to Belle & Sebastian,
But I’ve a Wu-Tang t-shirt, watch me shatter your preconceptions.
NWA and Beastie Boys are my favourite actually,
Doesn’t mean I don’t love books and learning stuff factually.
Corporate and commercial, is just so silly,
Lets enjoy old movies with the help of our friend Siri!

My life through an Instagram Lense.
I know what you are thinking, "new age fun with a vintage feel". Lolocaust. That video is so my life.
But seriously, I do see my life through an instagram lense. Other people's lives are like holiday snaps you get from Boots. Whereas I've always loved Polaroids. When I was a kid I used to take pictures of everyone on my Polaroid. I was so odd like that.
Its probably why I collect early 90s electronics. I have a couple of fax machines from when dad worked at Shell. I used to have these really cool old Amstrads, but the Financial Services Authority took them away during the insider trading investigations. I find it truly frustrating that some people have no appreciation of cultural historics.
What got me thinking about Instagram photos was this new campaign from Tiffany’s. Its sort of about the idiosyncrasies of relationships. Tiffany's obviously have a real understanding of what makes each and every relationship special and unique.
I look at these photographs and I see that they are a very accurate reflection of my life. I've done my own versions of them with my boyfriend, I'll post them up tomorrow.
The one thing I would say is that they are all quite 'Manhattan based' rather than 'Williamsburg based'. I think that may be because of the whole 'we sell diamonds thing', but other than that I think the tone is perfect.
I showed dad them and he loves this aesthetic, he actually wants me to do some photographs (I’m also a photographer) for his company who’ve got like this whole new ad campaign thing. It's ideal really because 'dress like you're on the Titanic' are possibly going to do the soundtrack to the commercial. Okay I can’t say anymore about it or dad will go nuts, but it’s quite exciting. Watch this space!

Last night was INCREDIBLE. So cool. I went to my best friend Olympia's place, she had a wild party in her flat. It's the same estate that Rihanna and Britney filmed their recent videos. Gritty but with such a quiet dignity. It's really near my place anyway and I know it quite well from my photography course.
Anyway I met such a great group of guys from the floor below, who came and joined the party. There was Salim, Ash, Mo, Dalmar and Asad. They said they really wanted to introduce me to their friend Chad, but I can't really remember what happened after that.
They were such a cool bunch of guys. I really wanted to show them the Royal Tenenbaums (my favourite film). It made me think that when you live in the same place as people it doesn't really matter where you come from or what your name is because ultimately we are all the same, we're all striving for the same thing and I think we all have the same priorities. Does that sound a bit philosophical? I always get like that when I'm drunk. I'm so interested in people, where they are from, what their parents do, I just ask questions, I LOVE meeting new people.
SO, I'm quite hungover, Soo unlike me? Also, for any of my buddy pals reading this, have you seen mine or Bruno's i phones? Can't find them anywhere.
Love you lots like jelly tots xxx

The weirdest thing happened to me today.
I was walking to work (my art studio) when this really lovely girl called Nadia stopped me and said she loved what I was wearing. She asked to take a picture of me for a Sunday Style supplemenet that she works for.
I said yes even though I'm really shy and normally hate having my photograph taken. I usually cover my eyes when people take a picture of me. I don't know why, its just this weird thing I do? If the photograph gets published I will put it up on the blog- although I'm sure it won't.
Nadia said she really liked my style and said I dressed like Alexis Chung. I have no idea who that is. Goodness, I'm sooo out of touch!
Anyway, here are the questions I was asked along with my answers.
Where do you hang out?: We go to a little dive bar in Dalston run by Turkish men drinking White Lightning cider while they Skype their families back home. I love weird, out-of-context bars, rather than swanky places.
What are you reading?: I'm rereading The Great Gatsby, because I gave it to my boyfriend, then
realised I can't remember the storyline, and I'm reading Franny And
Zooey (or as I like to call it Franney and Chlooey), and I was reading Confederacy Of Dunces and Love In A Cold
Climate, but I lost them.
Who is your style icon?: I don't really believe in that. I just dress for me and don't really follow anyone. But I do like; Carine Roitfeld, Miss Piggy, Julie Christie, Jane Birkin, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Lou Doillon, Lydia from The Only Way is Essex, Diana Mitford, My Great Auntie Xanthe, Clémence Poséy, Chantal Biya, Blossom, Six, Benazir Bhutto, Aung San Suu Kyi and the Crazy Homeless Lady that lives on my Road.
Hope that sound okay, eek xxx

Me
Hi I'm Chlooey. You pronounce it like "Chloe". I like the quirky things in life. You could say I'm kinda weird like that. I come from Gloucestershire and moved to Dalston after finishing Uni. It's really cool there. All my friends live nearby and we have like a little art community going on.
My studio space is in Shoreditch and I make installations about farce. I share my space with some great people. Everyone is so creative and lovely- we really just feed off each other's creativity.
Even though I'm only 25 I'm kinda old fashioned. I know I should be out getting drunk with my friends at my age but really, I like having tea parties and making cakes. Weird I know!!
I love knitting and craft and am currently making a wool Wu-Tan Clan (its not very good, drop stitch is so hard!).
I have two cats. One is called Gilbert and the other is called George.
Anyway, I hope you like my blog. Hopefully not too weird...... xxx
